Grupo Dinâmo

Dínamo Filmes was founded in 1997 by Eduardo Cama and Ricardo Carelli, two young college graduates in communications and arts, and it later gained strength in the advertising market by producing with talent for top brands, advertisers, and ad agencies.

In almost 15 years of existence, the production company has more than 1,500 works recorded in the “Agência Nacional do Cinema” (National Agency for Cinema). Dínamo is among the ten largest production companies in the country today, and its operation also includes Dínamo Digital, Dínamo International, and Dínamo Entertainment, encompassing a wide range of formats and media.

2010 and 2011 were special years for Dínamo. In 2010, it was elected Production Company of the Year at the Caboré Awards; it was winner of the only Lion (Silver), amongst the Brazilian companies, at the Cannes Lions Festival; it won the Golden Trophy in the category Cinema/TV at the Festival El Ojo de Iberoamerica; in addition to winning the Best Brazilian Film in the Regional Category at the same festival.  It also received the Bronze at the Ciclope Festival in Argentina with its video clip “Ain’t Right” produced by Dínamo Digital for the band Comodoro.

In 2011, Dínamo won a bronze trophy at the Festival El Ojo de Iberoamerica, a bronze trophy at the Ciclope Festival and had a TV commercial in the finals at the Cannes Lions Festival, with productions directed by Carelli. In this same period, the Scene Director João Simi, who is one of the company’s directors, was elected Director of Commercials of the Year by the “Prêmio Destaque Profissional de Comunicação” (Communications Professional Highlights Award), promoted by “Associação Brasileira de Propaganda” (Brazilian Advertising Association).

In March of 2011, the production company intensified its Dínamo International operations by announcing its partnership with Prime Focus, one of the largest post-production groups in the world, which has its creative team based in London (England) and offices in Los Angeles and New York (USA), Mumbai and Bombay (India), in addition to Vancouver and Winnipeg (Canada).  The partnership aims to add the international expertise of Prime Focus to the work Dínamo Digital, which specializes in producing films that use animation techniques and advance post-production technology.

In October, Dínamo International partnered with Argentine company Ursula, which kept its operations completely independent from Dínamo Films in Brazil.

Finally in December of 2011, Dínamo announced its partnership with Rattling Stick, the number one production company in England and on the most prestigious in the world. The production company has 8 Directors in its portfolio, highlights to Daniel Kleinman and Ringan Ledwidge, both winners of GranPrixs at Cannes. Rattling Stick is headquartered in London, but its operations go far beyond the United Kingdom, since it has several jobs in the US and other countries in Europe.
